If you watch Rachel Ray then you know she uses a garbage bowl while cooking for all the trash. I use a plastic grocery bag instead. I just hang it on one of my drawer pulls and fill it as I cook.
If I am peeling potatoes or carrots I lay a plastic bag flat in the sink and peel the veggies right on the bag. When finished I pick it up by the four corners and throw it right in the trash. I used to use my garbage disposal for peelings, but once my drain got clogged doing that so I started using the bag.

Great tip! And you're killing two birds with one stone--reusing a trashbag and avoiding another dish to wash. Great idea!
I have to agree that this is a great tip! Something that I do already. I hate having a clogged drain due to the peelings not going thru the garbage disposal correctly.
I like your idea much better than Rachel's. I always think when I see her using her 'garbage bowl' that there is just one more dish to wash!
LOL, I just bring the trashcan over to the counter. The Sandra Lee way. I line the wastebaskets w/those plastic bags, and use one or two for getting the cat litter. And not to mention a plastic bag in the baby's room for those smelly diapers!! (no we don't cloth diaper, ick!)
